#10 MIT Handles Emmanuel 79-46

The MIT Basketball team, ranked as the 10th best team in the nation out of over 400 teams in Division III, took care of business against Emmanuel College tonight with a 79-46 win. Tech dished out an incredible 26 assists on 31 makes, held the Saints to just 26% shooting, and out-rebounded their opponents by 17.

Junior Jamie Karraker, one of the best three-point shooters in the nation last season, scorched the nets early on, nailing five trifectas in just 3 minutes. Karraker, who is averaging almost four three-pointers a game at 44%, went on to hit seven three's and led all scorers with 23 points.

Senior Billy Bender came off a career-night versus RPI to fill the stat-sheet again with 21 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals, while All-Region big-man Will Tashman notched his second double-double in a row with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Former Regional Rookie of the Year Mitchell Kates led the efficient offense again, dishing out 8 assists on the night, while All-American Noel Holllingsworth, drawing double and triple teams that left other teammates open, grabbed 9 caroms off the glass.

The Engineers take Thursday off for Thanksgiving, then meet Suffolk University at home on Saturday at 2pm.
