For the fourth time in five games, MIT was unable to overcome their offensive woes, and fell tonight at the hands of a nationally-ranked WPI squad. WPI got off to a hot start, leading 16-5 after just 8.5 minutes. The teams would play relatively even the rest of the half, with MIT trailing 21-30 at the intermission. The beginning of the second half proved to be pivotal, however, as WPI surged out of the break on an 8-0 run, to go up 17. The would not look back, cruising to a 68-53 victory.

MIT was led by Mitchell Kates, who scored 15 points on 6-10 shooting. Will Tashman added 9 points and 7 rebounds, while freshman Tim Donegan scored 10 points on 5-6 shooting. The full boxscore can be found at the official MIT Athletics website.

MIT continues NEWMAC play this Saturday, January 15th, at 2:00 PM, when they host Clark University.
